I guess that's one of the things that sucks about art classes. Because art is a very subjective thing and dependent on personal interpretation, you can create beautiful works of art but still be dumped on by a professor that decides theirs is the final word on art. =|

My wife has a BFA and almost quit art altogether because of crap like that.

I transferred from Arts/English major at one school, to Engineering at another. I then took art electives...that was pretty surreal, and I spent a lot of time being told that what I liked (and am now, finally, making) wasn't really even art at all. This whole story arc makes total sense to me!

I should have said, "This whole story arc totally resonates with me". I was at work and had to type quickly, so the English major side of me has been obsessing over my wording ever since.

Reminds me of the nightmare of taking a poetry class in university. They should just list those courses with a line saying: "WARNING: SUBJECTIVE LOW MARKS."

I love the angle of the final panel. Very nice.
