I'm so glad! <3 I mean, I love them all but that doesn't mean everyone will, ha ha!

Ooh, Juan's mama is a world traveler? She's even cooler now! ^_^

I find it really interesting that her author photo is of her amortal form. I mean, I get that it's a visual device and if you'd put her mortal photo on the book we wouldn't make the connection as quickly, but it raises all sorts of questions. How does that work? Do amortals know what they look like to mortals? How do they handle things like doing their hair and makeup when their amortal features don't match their mortal ones?

Well, the elf did say that the whole amortal thing isn't their power, it's humanity's gift for denial. It doesn't matter how much amortal pictures and such are running around if humans automatically deny it; should they make their sanity check that is.

Something that's bothered me a little is how many amortals have been present practically every update. This leads to the impression that they outnumber humanity, which I don't think is the author's intent.

You know, and here I was thinking: there aren't enough amortals, this is going to get boring so I add more. Dangit!

It's only really an issue when you have the wide shots with 10+ people in them. At least in my memory, which admittedly is holier than the Pope's underwear, the amortals tend to outnumber the humans. It is certainly possible that the humans just aren't interesting enough for me to remember, and I don't count places like the amortal diner, which specifically cater to non-humans.
